Chynna Ortaleza and Kean Cipriano with kids

Chynna Ortaleza and Kean Cipriano open up about how they balance family life and their passion for the arts.

Chynna Ortaleza and Kean Cipriano admitted their plan not to have a third child now that the celebrity couple has their hands full with their two adorable kids and the expansion of OC Records.

Chynna and Kean tied the knot twice, the second being a church ceremony held in November 2017. Their marriage has been blessed with two children, Stellar and Salem, ages four and one respectively.

Not long after their wedding, the two stars birthed their own record label OC Records in 2018 which the couple eyes to be a full-blown entertainment company. They intend to not only manage artists but to also produce, distribute, and license music, as well as stage videos and events.

For 2021, Chynna and Kean eye to make their vision a reality despite the challenges they've experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the virtual media conference of OC Records yesterday, January 27, the Kapuso actress admitted how she has been struggling, juggling her time and resources between her many roles.

She said, “It's so overwhelming at times because being a mom is demanding as you know. If there's a mom here you'd know how I feel. But then of course you have to balance things. You have an artist-husband, you're a muse to him, then after that, you're working in a label with so many artists with conflicting egos and everything.

“So what I do is I just soldier on, you know. That's what I do. I voice out all energies, good and bad. My team knows this. I'm transparent with them. If I'm pissed, I'm pissed, I'll cry it out. I'm happy, I'm super happy. This is just how I get through it, 'no to be able to get that balance that we need for the artists and also working as a team. And so far, we haven't filed for divorce or annulment, so I guess that's a good thing.”

Kean echoed her sentiments and shared the realities of their married life and partnership, “As much as gusto mong iwan 'yung trabaho sa trabaho, madadala at madadala mo siya sa bahay eh lalo na ngayon 'di ba na parang lagi lang kaming nasa bahay. So parang I think 'yun 'yung isa sa parang challenging part kasi kahit gusto lang namin mag-relax or gusto namin manood ng TV, biglang 'Wait, anong tingin mo sa release natin ng ganito na artist? Ano 'yung plano natin sa event na ganito?'

“Parang ganyan, parang napaghahalo talaga but I'm just really happy na meron akong asawa na maiintindihan din 'yung kumbaga parehas kaming nasa creative field. So kumbaga, I think alam naman namin 'yung pinasok namin and alam namin 'to. And ako kasi, this is what I want to do for the rest of my life, entertainment, music. So etong recording label naman na 'to, alam ko na eventually mapa-pass on din namin siya sa mga anak namin so that's why we're grinding and working hard now to parang kumbaga ma-mount namin 'tong company na 'to na kumbaga with intergrity and kumbaga maayos 'yung projection namin sa mundo.

When asked about their plans for the Valentine's, the couple implied that they'd still be spending the day accomplishing their tasks as parents and as business partners.

Kean claimed, “Hindi kami masyadong engrande na 'Sige, celebrate tayo ng ganyan.' Basta magkasama kami, bigyan ko ng masahe, kumain lang kami nang maayos, okay na kami. Parang ganun.”

Chynna seconded this, saying, “Basta 'yung hashtag namin nung nagpakasal kami, pretty much that's how we are as a couple. We say, 'til death we do art. So we carry that sa lahat ng ginagawa namin pati sa record label. So we're gonna keep doing this until you know, ma-permit kami.”

They also opened up about their wish for their family. The two stars revealed that they are already satisfied with having Stellar and Salem around, stating almost in unison, that they “don't want baby number three.”

Kean said, “Kung ako tatanungin, gusto ko sana sa Valentine's mag-cuddle lang kami pero 'yung mga bata andyan.”

Chynna concluded, “That's not yet possible at the moment, guys.”
