The cast of the upcoming medical series Code Gray underwent an immersion program in a real-life hospital as part of their preparation for their roles in the medical field.

They participated in the immersion to gain deeper insight into the characters they are set to portray.

In an interview with Chika Minute on the Kapuso news program 24 Oras, several cast members shared their takeaways and realizations following the immersion for the show.

Seasoned actor Christopher de Leon shared that his role in the series is different from those he has portrayed before. He added that the show will offer a deeper look into the lives of people working in the medical field, including their personal struggles and experiences.

“A lot of times nagampanan ko na ang doctor, but this one is entirely different. 'Yung nitty gritty of being a surgeon, of operating a hospital, it's not just going to be doctors, nurses, it's going to be a story, mga nagtatrabaho sa ospital and their personal lives,” said Christopher.

During the immersion, the cast also learned how to properly handle various hospital equipment.

Kapuso actor Kristoffer Martin noted that the experience gave them practical knowledge about how medical professionals operate these tools in real life.

“Nilibot namin 'yung buong facility, may mga spots sa hospital na first time kong napuntahan tsaka may mga machines na ginagamit sila, na-explain din sa amin nang maayos, na may mga ganun pala tayong machines na for specific purpose talaga siya,” Kristoffer shared.

Meanwhile, actor-singer Christian Bautista expressed a newfound appreciation for medical professionals following the immersion, noting that these workers truly dedicate their lives to saving others.

“Ang unang naramdama ko ay ang pag-appreciate sa lahat ng doctors, lahat ng nurses na binigay ang buhay nila sa lahat ng pasyente. Salamat sa inyo,” Christian expressed.

Kapuso stars Faith Da Silva and Jon Lucas also shared that the immersion opened their eyes to the realities of the country's healthcare system.

Having witnessed the struggles of their fellow Filipinos firsthand, they said they are taking home valuable lessons and realizations from the experience.

“Sa emergency pa lang, nakita ko na talaga kung ano 'yung mga bagay na pinagdadaanan ng mga kapwa nating Pilipino, ating mga kababayan, and 'yung struggles talaga ng life, lalo na kung meron kang niramdam na sakit,” shared Faith.

“Sobrang daming natutunan, sobrang dami kong babaunin ngayon sa pag-uwi ko about sa medical and malaking bagay siya kasi nga ito 'yung gagawin nating teleserye,” said Jon.

The medical series stars Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards alongside Christopher de Leon, Andrea Torres, Faith Da Silva, Shuvee Etrata, Allen Ansay, Joross Gamboa, Christian Bautista, Kristoffer Martin, and Jon Lucas.
