In this time of health crisis, staying fit and healthy is the best way to protect one's self from the COVID-19 infection. This can be accomplished through sheer dedication, unbending hard work, and by setting a goal in his or her fitness journey.

Connie Sison, one of GMA's news anchor and Pinoy MD host, once led a fitness journey to shed unwanted body mass and to achieve a physically fit body.

However, despite her strenuous work-out regimen, she did not achieve her goal of losing weight due to an underlying condition - hypothyroidism.

“Gaya ng marami sa atin, ilang beses ko na ring sinubukan magbawas ng timbang. Pero hindi ko na-achieve ang inaasam kong resulta kaya ang weight ko umabot noon ng 170 lbs.,” she said.

After undergoing treatment for hypothyroidism and high blood sugar level, Connie jumpstarted her fitness journey with simple exercises at home then eventually establishing a workout regimen.

In addition to exercising, the Pinoy MD host also suggests a full-on lifestyle change.

“Dapat hindi lang exercise, mga Kapuso, kundi lifestyle change dapat sa pagkain, sa oras ng pagtulog, kailangan po yan lahat para sa ating wellness,” she said.
