Big hugs, Kunars (John Steven Soriano)! Content creator Nurse Even talked about his battle with depression more than eight years ago.
Nurse and content creator Nurse Even or John Steven Soriano in real life opened up about his mental health struggle in 2017.
Nurse Even or Kunars to his fans has more than two million followers on Facebook and more than 1.2 million followers on TikTok.

In an Instagram Story, John bravely talked about how depression affected his life, when he was in the Philippines.
“Alam n'yo ba nung 2017, nag-suffer ako sa depression? Super namayat ako, punong puno ng breakouts ang face ko. Halos, hindi na ako kumakain at pumapasok sa work at parang wala na akong gana sa life,” Kunars recalled.
He continued, “Eh di ba sa Pilipinas, hindi naman big deal ang 'depression before? So wala akong malapitan, wala akong masabihan, kasi kilala ako ng friends and family ko as masaya lang.. kuwela.. clown.
“So ang ginawa ko, every weekend nagda-drive ako papuntang Nasugbu, Batangas, tapos dun lang ako hanggang mag-sunset. Tapos every suweldo, pumupunta kami ng mga ka-work ko sa San Juan, La Union para titignan lang ang Sunset. Tapos yun, unti-unti na ulit akong sumigla, nawala ang breakouts ko at bumalik ang dating lakas at saya ko… Kaya sobrang importante sa akin ang sunset.”
Now that he is happily married and living in the United Kingdom, Nurse Even stated that seeing a sunset brings back a lot of memories and how it helped him cope up.
“Bihira ang sunset dito sa UK, As in bihira. Kaya 'pag nakakakita ako ng sunset dito, talagang nag-ispare ako ng 15 minutes para i-appreciate lang siya. Kasi sinagip n'ya ako.”
