It’s no wonder then why millions of ladies nationwide have fallen for the hottie Dennis Trillo. For not only is he endowed with physical beauty and wonderful talents, he is also equipped with overflowing appeal, a great sense of humor and intelligence to match – making him the guy every girl would want mom and dad to meet. For our Valentines’ Day special, we tracked down this “ideal man” and located him on the hills of Antipolo shooting for his upcoming show, Super Twins . Fall in love with him all over gain as he talks about love, relationships and his new primetime show. Step by Step When it comes to getting in a relationship, Dennis is the type who would take it slowly but surely. He knows that crushes, flings and mutual understandings are natural situations that people can’t avoid getting into, and these are normal and uncontrollable moments that add color and spice to one’s life. Although these connections may only be for fun at first, it can grow into something deeper when nurtured and given time. For a guy who seldom courts, Dennis’s strategy when working his way to a woman’s heart is to befriend her. “Kinakaibigan ko lang muna tapos hinihintay ko na ma-develop” he says. “Para walang stage na nagpapa-impress o nagpa-panggap ka.” But more than being good friends, he stresses that “being yourself” is most important. “Maging totoo ka. ‘Wag kang maging hipokrito sa kanya” he confidently states. Quiet and a loner by nature, Dennis says a girl will know he has eyes for her when he initiates a conversation with her. As it is very necessary for him to get to know a girl better, he would opt to bring her to a place where they could have a nice dinner and a heart-to-heart talk on the first date.

If things go well on the date, he just might seal it with a kiss. But isn’t that too fast? “Okay sa’kin ‘yun eh. Naniniwala ako na sa panahon ngayon, hindi na uso ‘yung pakipot. Kung gusto mo ang isang tao, mas maganda ‘yung maging honest ka” he explains. And would he ever consider going out with a fan? “Oo. Kasi fan ‘yun eh, (at) napakahirap mag-break ng puso ng isang fan” he replies. How to Deal Once in a relationship, Dennis describes himself as someone thoughtful and “sweet in his own way”. He even admits that he has the tendency to be over protective. “(For example) Dapat alam ko kung sino kasama niya, saan siya pupunta at anong oras siya uuwi” he says. “Importante ‘yun, (saka) right ko din naman malaman.” He is also aware of the fact that the girl’s parents should know about their relationship. According to him, the best way to earn their trust is to be a courteous boyfriend. “Basta kailangan may respeto ka sa kanila at hindi ka bastos” he stresses. It will also be helpful if the guy shares a little about his life so that the girl’s parents may get to know him more, he adds. But when problems arise and a break-up ensues, Dennis says recovery from a failed relationship is very essential. And so he quips, “hindi katapusan ng mundo kapag natapos ang isang realsyon. Napakarami pang opportunities na naghihintay, napakarami pang babae d’yan.” The Passion

As much as Dennis is passionate on keeping his values and relationships intact, he is also keen on excelling artistically. Portraying a variety of roles and garnering a number of awards for his exceptional performances only inspire him to learn more and get better. From typical boy-next-door to the more challenging gay roles, Dennis has matured enough to prove everyone he deserves the pedestal he is on. After a stagnant period he said he felt in his career, he is now “reinventing himself” and very eager to portray his roles more creditably. “Dapat i-reinvent ang sarili palagi. Kailangan iba-iba a’yung ipakita mo sa manonood para hindi sila mag-sawa na ‘yun at ‘yun lang ang kaya mong gawin” he explains. Dennis is no newcomer to it to the tele-fantasya trend that is still on a roll in Philippine television. In fact, he was one of the actors who had the first taste of it. After starring as Gabriel in Mulawin , Efren in Mars Ravelo’s Darna and Raquim in Etheria , he comes back to the primetime scene with another fantasy series, Super Twins . Here, he plays Eliseo, a martial arts mentor who teaches two young girls how to use their powers and transform into lovely super heroines.

“First time ko mag-play ng ganyang (role). So ang main challenge doon, kailangang mabigyang justice mo kahit hindi mo alam lahat ng martial arts” he says. Distinguishing Eliseo from all the other characters he played and making the viewers believe he knows what he is doing are also very crucial, he adds.
Playing Eliseo also makes him very conscious of his physical fitness. He had to undergo basic Arnis and martial arts training to be ready for the rigorous fight scenes that require much physical strength, and regularly exercise to maintain his body.
He even relates to the character as he is an older brother to two girls whom he also guides the best way he can.
Working with Direk Dominic Zapata and StarStruck 1 finalists Jennylyn Mercado and Nadine Samonte is also nothing new to Dennis. Being with them in Mulawin, Now and Forever: Dangal and Etheria respectively, Dennis says they have already established a healthy working relationship, and claims their chemistry even got better this time.
“Lalong naging okay, kasi dalawang magagandang babae ang kasama ko. Parang nakaka-inspire lalo na mag-trabaho” he quips.
Super Twins has started to conquer the primetime scene when it started airing this week. With an exciting plot brought to life by an acclaimed Direk Dom and starring the lovable Dennis Trillo, alongside Jennylyn Mercado and Nadine Samonte, there are more than enough reasons to tune in and follow the adventure unfold.
