Here are the COVID-19 updates in the Philippines yesterday, April 11, 2021.
The country got a much-needed good news, although the situation remains critical, after the Department of Health (DOH) recorded over 55,000 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
As of Yesterday, April 11, the total number of recoveries reached 703,404. But 11,681 new COVID-19 infections were also recorded, bringing the total cases to 864,868.
The positivity rate also slightly increased from 20.7% on April 10 to 20.8% on Sunday.
In addition, 201 people died from the highly contagious disease on Sunday, bringing the number of deaths due to COVID-19 to 14,945 in the whole Philippines.
In recent days, many celebrities went public that they too contracted the disease. These include book author and lifestyle coach Bo Sanchez, former Kapag Nahati Ang Puso actress Sunshine Cruz, and comedienne K Brosas.
Last week, Kapuso primetime actresses Rhian Ramos and Glaiza de Castro also confirmed that they tested positive for COVID-19, but they have already recovered from it.
