Lee Shin Young, famously known for acting as the North Korean soldier who has model-good looks in Crash Landing On You, has finally bagged another drama to add to his roster.
Shin Young will be starring in the KBS 2TV drama “How to Buy a Friend” which is based on a webtoon of the same name.
He will be playing the lead role Park Chan Hong, an average high school student who starts a “contractual friendship” with the school's legendary fighter Heo Don Hyuk (played by Shin Seung Ho) because of a poem he writes. Actress Kim So Hye will play Chan Hong's first love Uhm Se Yoon.
In an interview, reported by Korean entertainment site Soompi, he said he's constantly trying to study his character because of its “clumsy and naive” image.
“Park Chan Hong is clumsy and naive. His biggest charm is the fact that he has a lot of consideration for others. He's a kind character who tries to be sympathetic towards others even though he doesn't understand them.
“Since the standard of 'ordinary' varies from person to person, I am constantly studying my character and thinking about how to portray him well.”
“How to Buy a Friend “ premieres on April 6.
