"Sex and Vanity" isn't a part of the "Crazy Rich Asians" trilogy but the story also has themes of romance, Asian high society, race, and cultural identity.
It follows the life of Lucie Churchill, an affluent bride-to-be born to a Chinese-American mother and New Yorker father who finds herself in a dilemma when an old flame she met on the Italian island of Capri makes a return in her life.
The novel is presented as an homage to the 1908 classic novel "A Room with a View," Kwan said in an interview with Your Morning.
Sequel films for Crazy Rich Asian's novel follow-ups "China Rich Girlfriend" and "Rich People Problems" are also currently in development.
