Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive for COVID-19, the Portuguese Football Federation said on its website on Tuesday, October 13.
According to the statement, the 35-year-old Juventus forward is "doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation," which led him to miss Portugal's match against Sweden in the Nations League on Wednesday, October 14.
Following the positive case, the remaining players underwent new tests Tuesday morning which all got a negative result.
Just hours before the shocking news broke, Cristiano posted a groufie with his teammates at a dinner on his Instagram account.
Meanwhile, Cristiano's girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, shortly posted a picture on her Instagram Story which appeared to show they're on a video call, calling him "my inspiration."
Over the course of his career, Cristiano has won the Ballon d'Or award five times.
