Cannabidiol is a component of marijuana. So, can you get high from using it? Find out HERE:

There has been a long and controversial debate about using marijuana for medicinal purposes.

Currently, the use of cannabis even for medical reasons is still widely illegal in the Philippines. However, individuals with serious or terminal illness may apply for a special permit from the Food and Drugs Authority to use unregistered drugs in the Philippines, including those containing cannabis.

Recently, the Dangerous Drugs Board approved a medicine called cannabidiol or CBD. It is a cure for epilepsy, and according to the Harvard Medical School, it is derived directly from the hemp plant, which is a cousin of the marijuana plant.

Although CBD is a component of marijuana, according to the report of the World Health Organization, it does not cause a high or pose a risk of possible dependence on it. Part of the report says: “While the number of studies is limited, the evidence from well-controlled human experimental research indicates that CBD is not associated with abuse potential. Controlled, human studies regarding the potential physical dependence effects (e.g. withdrawal and tolerance) of cannabidiol have not been reported.”
