Dani Barretto touches the hearts of netizens with her deeply personal and reflective message addressed to her 2016 self.
Sharing throwback photos from the year 2016 has recently trended online; among those participating is one of Marjorie Barretto's daughter, Dani Barretto.
On her Instagram post, Dani shared a photo of herself from 2016, accompanied by a touching message dedicated to her 2016 self.
Dani looked back at 2016, a year she describes as the ultimate "turning point" of her life.
“Hello 2016 Dani, so much has changed, and yet, so much of you stayed the same,” Dani wrote in the caption.
“2016 was heavy for you. It was the turning point of your life. After this day, after this trip, you'll learn the beauty of letting go of things and people who never saw your worth or value,” she continued.
She further opened up about losing her way at one point, only to find herself again in the end.: “You felt lost for a while, but you'll find yourself again.”
Dani also commended her 2016 self, expressing how proud she is of the bravery she displayed despite the hardships she surpassed. She further noted that every struggle she faced back then turned out to be “worth it.”
“I'm so proud of you for being brave when all you wanted to do was cry yourself to sleep and drown in misery. It was all worth it, 2016 Dani,” she said.
She also highlighted the transformation she underwent after “losing” herself in the past years.
“You became the woman you once thought you would never be. Stronger than your fears, kinder to yourself, braver in love. More grounded, more sure,” Dani said.
Dani further emphasized her accomplishments, noting that she has fulfilled dreams she previously believed were out of her reach: “You'll become a wife. A mom to two beautiful children. A business owner, Top Podcaster in the PH.”
“You built a life you once only dreamed of. Everything you said you couldn't do, you did it all,” she continued.
She ended her heartfelt tribute by reassuring her younger self: “I'm so proud of you.”
The comments section quickly filled with messages of support from fans, friends, and fellow celebrities like Dani's sister, Claudia Barretto-Lorenzo, and Iwa Moto.
“So proud of you,” Claudia wrote in the comments.
“Dani, you are a genuine gem. I love you so much,” Iwa commented.
Dani Barretto is married to her husband Xavi Panlilio in April 2019. She is also a hands-on mom to their two beautiful children, Camilla Marguerite and Riley Nicholas James.
