Danica Sotto: “Life is full of surprises but we can choose to be joyful in the midst of life's challenges.”

Danica Sotto is doing well after undergoing cholecystectomy or the removal of the gallbladder.

In her Instagram post yesterday, May 28, the wife of retired PBA player Marc Pingris recalled the pain she was suffering before the operation.

She noted, “Feeling much better a week after cholecystectomy [gallbladder removal surgery]. They had to remove my gb due to chronic pain and gallstones. If you have experienced gallbladder pain you know what I'm talking about. Sakit talaga siya diba?!!”

The daughter of actors Vic Sotto and Dina Bonnevie also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who prayed for her recovery, as well.

“Grateful for my family and friends for all the prayers and to our angels here at home.” Danica said.

“ Extra effort sila since I cannot carry our baby Luc yet. We also made it to Mic's game last Sat. Super happy we made it kahit medyo sore pa.

The Pingris couple exchanged “I Do's” in 2007. Since then, they have been blessed with three children: Jean-Michel, Anielle Micaela (or Caela), and the youngest Jean Luc was born in January 2023.

In a tell-all vlog in April 2023, Danica talked about the challenges of giving birth to Baby Luc at age 40.

She said then, “Ten years, tapos siyempre may nine months pa na paghahantay. Ang sarap nung feeling nung pagpunta doon. Pero parang bago lahat uli, since ang tagal nung [agwat]. Scheduled cesarean section na siya, kasi nga CS ako nung first, because hindi ako nag-dilate.”

“'Tapos big baby din siya and then nag-break na 'yung bag ko nun e. Anyway, nung second ko I tried for ay VBAC it's a vaginal birth after a cesarean section. Unfortunately, a few weeks before I gave birth nagkaroon ako ng low-lying placenta. So, again I wasn't allowed to have a normal delivery.”

Danica went on to explain, “So itong third, siyempre hindi na, may doctor didn't want to take the risk, my OB, Dr. Pascua. Kasi, parang kinunsider na ako na high-risk, because of my age.

“Talagang nag-ingat talaga ako meaning, I really ate healthy food, tapos inalagaan ko sarili ko. Nag-e-exercise ako, pero lumaki pa rin si baby… But anyway, 9.3 pounds! Biruin n'yo 'yun!”
