Darren Espanto hoped people would get to understand his best friend and celebrity housemate AC Bonifacio more and give her a chance to prove herself inside the Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) House.

“I feel like a lot of people just misinterpret a lot of the things, not just AC ha, like a lot of the things that the housemates say within the house and their actions,” the singer-host told the press at the sidelines of his endorsement launch with a coffee line on Wednesday.

The It's Showtime host said he and social media star Niana Guerrero have also been tagged in posts online about AC.

Darren said he has been friends with AC for eight years now and that he knows her inside and out.

“I know what the backstory is to what she's doing inside the house. And I'm not saying we all tolerate everything that we do even though we're best friends, pero siyempre may mga limitations din,” he explained.

Darren said he and Niana also check up on AC's mom, even holding group calls to talk about what is happening inside the house.

When asked what he would want people to know about AC, Darren joked, “The views and opinions of the housemates do not reflect the views and opinions of the best friends. 'Di, joke lang.”

“I hope people get to understand AC more tsaka they give her a chance kasi feeling ko malakas 'yung laban din ng best friend ko,” Darren said.

He continued, “Before going in talaga, all of us knew what she was going to be going into. All of us are rooting for her. Tsaka sana mabigyan rin siya ng chance to be able to showcase her talents inside the house, her personality, and how good of a person she is.”

AC is one of the celebrity housemates of the Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition.

AC and her duo, Ashley Ortega, are among the nominees on the first nomination night of the edition, alongside Will Ashley and River Joseph; and Michael Sager and Ralph De Leon.
