Darren Espanto shares memories of singing for Pope Francis during 2015 visit to the Philippines.

In the wake of Pope Francis' passing, It's Showtime host Darren Espanto took a moment to reflect on one of the most momentous milestones of his career, his heartfelt song performance for the head of the Catholic Church.

On Instagram, Darren shared an old clip of his powerful performance for Pope Francis in 2015, where he belted out the Christian song "Tell the World of His Love" at the Pope's concluding mass at the Quirino Grandstand.

"10 years ago, I had the privilege of singing for Pope Francis during his visit to the Philippines," he wrote.

The singer shared, "It was an honor to be chosen to sing for such a historical event."

Looking up to Pope Francis with deep admiration, Darren shared how the Catholic leader's presence has touched the hearts of millions worldwide, including his own.

"May he rest in peace," he added.

Pope Francis passed away on April 21, Easter Monday. He was 88.

According to the Vatican News, the cause of death of the Holy Father was a "stroke, followed by a coma and irreversible cardiocirculatory collapse."
