Sparkle heartthrob David Licauco admitted that since his breakthrough performance in Maria Clara at Ibarra as Fidel, it resulted in him having fewer rest time because of numerous showbiz commitments.
In an exclusive chat via Zoom with the entertainment press for Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko yesterday, March 7, David also said that he couldn't even visit his three restaurants for now, since he needed to focus on his work as an actor.
David shared, “To be completely honest I haven't had the time to visit my restaurants because 'yung responsibilities ko right now sa showbiz is almost everyday, actually, everyday [smiles]”
He continued, “I'm very, very, grateful for this opportunity na I'm here in this position, kumbaga, busy ka. Although, sometimes it gets tiring, it gets overwhelming. You just have to, actually, take a rest siguro, like parang, sit back and think you know I'm grateful. I'm very, very, lucky to be in this position.”
David and his on-screen partner, Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza, will star in the "Lady and Luke"episode in the award-winning fantasy show starting March 12.
David and Barbie's tandem created a strong fan base during their unexpected pairing in the historical portal fantasy series Maria Clara at Ibarra.
When asked, how will they showcase their kilig chemistry on this new project, David stated, “Ako, as David, tina-try ko, pakonti-konting pa-smile-smile konti. Medyo pa-cute-pa-cutre nang konti. Tingnan natin kung magwo-work 'yun dito.
“It takes two to tango. Actually, hindi lang two kasi depende rin naman sa directing, sa writers kung nakakakilig 'yung [eksena]. It's a team effort, so sana kikiligin din 'yung mga tao.”
Meanwhile, Barbie stressed that what you see on TV between her and the Kapuso hottie is natural, which she believes is the 'magic' of their awesome team up.
Catch David and Barbie on Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko starting this Sunday, March 12, before Happy ToGetHer.
