David Licauco

Take a peek at David Licauco's preparations for 'Sparkle Canada tour' and 'Pulang Araw'.

After an inspiring trip to Australia, Kapuso star David Licauco is now back in the Philippines with a more motivated spirit to continue working on his upcoming projects.

In a report by Aubrey Carampel for 24 Oras Chikaminute, David reminisced how fun the trip was, where he got to watch his idol, Taylor Swift perform on stage in her Sydney leg of "The Era's Tour" concert.

Besides seeing his favorite artist, the Kapuso actor also got to visit his family in the country, as he reunited with his brother while also meeting their newborn child.

"Lumabas na kasi yung first pamangkin ko. Nakakatuwa nga nung hawak ko yung baby," he happilly said.

Now that he's back, David shared he's focused on his rehearsals for the "Sparkle Canada tour" this coming April. He'll be performing alongside other Kapuso celebrities Ruru Madrid, Bianca Umali, Julie Anne San Jose, Rayver Cruz, and his love team partner Barbie Forteza.

David also mentioned how serious he was during practices. Besides that he isn't used to singing on stage, David felt pressured that the show would be directed by the well-known Sparkle GMA Artist Center's consultant, Mr. Johnny Manahan.

"It wasn't an easy task kasi hindi naman talaga ako singer but I'm trying my best para maganda mapakita natin sa overseas Filipino workers abroad," David said.

Other than their visit to Canada, David also resumed his taping for GMA's upcoming historical and drama series, Pulang Araw.

David mentioned his role was a challenging one as he had to learn the Japanese language for his character Hiroshi, a Japanese soldier.

"Challenging siya yung pag-aral ng Japanese language kasi syempre iba yung tonality. But I think it's a good challenge for me.I would say this is the hardest role na ginampanan ko and I'm super excited kasi very dramatic (siya)," he said.
