Ayon sa creator-director ng Dear Uge, minsan na raw silang nasabihan na hindi magtagagal ang programa dahil sa paniniwalang “comedy in the Philippines is masculine.”

Nagwagi bilang “Best Comedy Show” ang nag-iisang comedy anthology show na Dear Uge sa ika-17 Gawad Tanglaw Awards noong Miyerkules, May 8.

Ang tumanggap ng nasabing award ay ang head writer, show creator, at director ng show na si Mr. Jojo T. Nones.

Aniya, “When we think of comedy shows in the Philippines, we think of sitcoms or gag shows.

“And when we think of anthology shows naman, ang lagi mo namang naiisip ay drama.

“So why not a comedy anthology show? And thus, Dear Uge was born.

“When it was in the air for a few months, many people told us, 'O! 'Di kayo magtatagal because your show has feminine voice and comedy in the Philippines is masculine.'

“But so far, we're on our fourth year and today we received an award from Gawad Tanglaw, validating all our efforts and telling us that we're doing a great job.”

Patuloy na subaybayan ang mga kuwentuwaang magaganap sa Dear Uge tuwing Linggo pagkatapos ng Sunday Pinasaya sa GMA7!
