Belter Denise Barbacena has discovered through 'Bubble Gang' that she has what it takes to make people laugh. Find out how the Bagong Gang winner feels about being part of the country's longest-running gag show and its new batch of cast members.


Denise Barbacena is known for hitting high notes and belting out hit collaborations with Gloc 9, such as Hari ng Tondo and Dapat Tama. Through Bubble Gang, the Bagong Gang winner discovered that she also has what it takes to make people laugh.

In a recent visit to the Bubble Gang set, GMANetwork.com got to chat with the fresh-faced Kapuso star.

Denise said she feels really blessed to be part of Bubble Gang because besides it being the longest-running gag show in the country, she also gets to share scenes with comedy legends like Michael V. She considers herself lucky to be in the midst of people whom she grew up watching on television.

Not a taping day passes by that Denise gets bored because she gets to bond with every member of the cast. She describes their working relationship as family-like. The atmosphere, according to her, is very fun and light. It feels as though they are not working because they are all enjoying and laughing to their heart’s content.

Denise never knew that she had it in her to be a comedienne since her background is singing. She is glad that she gets to bring out her cheerful and witty side through Bubble Gang, which just celebrated its 18th anniversary.

Recently proclaimed as the Bagong Gang winner together with Jan Manual, Denise shared that there is zero rivalry among the Bagong Gang members. She gets along well with her fellow newbies, Joyce Ching, Arny Ross, RJ Padilla and Juancho Trivino.
