The new GMA Prime series Sanggang-Dikit FR delivered a powerful premiere, featuring action, laughs, and star power from Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado.
Right off the bat, Dennis and Jennylyn, who play cops Lt. Tonyo Conde and Sgt. Bobby Enriquez, respectively, starred in explosive scenes with a comedic twist.
In Sanggang-Dikit FR's pilot episode, which aired on Monday, June 23, a daring museum heist thrust Lt. Tonyo Conde into a life-or-death mission, confronting masked robbers in the heart of the pre-colonial exhibit. Amid flying bullets and shattered glass, Tonyo charged into action, taking down one of the thieves while shielding the priceless legacy of the past. Nearby, Sgt. Bobby Enriquez heard the distant gunfire during patrol and instinctively headed to the chaos.
Though assigned to a different precinct, Bobby arrived just in time to intercept a fleeing suspect. Without speaking, the two officers moved in sync, stopping the remaining gunmen in a tense, unspoken alliance.
Significantly adding to the thrill were the performances of veteran actors Al Tantay, Roi Vinzon, Jeffrey Santos, and Allen Dizon.
Sanggang-Dikit FR not only packed heat but also humor, thanks to the punchlines of Nova Villa, Joross Gamboa, and content creators Tito Abdul and Marsy that flipped the tension into laughter.
The star-studded series got even more stellar with the guest appearances of Elle Villanueva, Kris Bernal, Glydel Mercado, Arthur Solinap.
Because of its snappy storystelling and powerful ensemble, Sanggang-Dikit FR drew strong viewership on its pilot episode, earning a rating of 8.2 percent based on the preliminary/overnight data of Nielsen Philippines' National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) people ratings.
Sanggang-Dikit FR airs weeknights, 8:50 p.m., on GMA and Kapuso Stream. It also has a delayed telecast on GTV at 10:30 p.m.
