Derek Ramsay is making headlines after being involved in an ongoing Land Transportation Office (LTO) investigation.

In a report by Ivan Mayrina on 24 Oras Weekend on Saturday, August 15, the actor's supercar is under investigation after it was found bearing an allegedly fake plate number.

According to the LTO, Derek is the registered owner of the vehicle, which was being driven by a businessman.

As the probe continues, the LTO has seized the supercar and suspended the driver's licenses of Derek and the businessman for 90 days.

The investigation also revealed that Derek had allegedly sold the vehicle to the businessman. However, the buyer had yet to have the vehicle transferred under their name, resulting in Derek remaining the registered owner in the agency's records.

As Ramsay is still listed as the vehicle's registered owner, he has been included among those required to appear before the LTO on August 24 to explain.

“He needs to prove to us at the LTO whether he had already sold the vehicle or merely lent it out so we can clarify the matter," said LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Marcos Lacanilao.

The LTO chief asked Derek to present the deed of sale as proof that he had sold the vehicle to the businessman and to determine whether the buyer should be held solely responsible for the violation.

On Instagram Stories, he assured the public of his cooperation with the LTO and urged them to carefully read the agency's statement before drawing conclusions about the case.

Previously, Derek was involved in a cheating controversy with his former partner, Ellen Adarna. They share one daughter, Liana, who was born in 2024.
