In September 2022, long-time Kapuso actor Derrick Monasterio bagged his first acting trophy at the 2nd Diamond Excellence Awards.
Former Return to Paradise and Tween Hearts star Derrick Monasterio will remain a Kapuso, his home network for two decades, after renewing his contract with Sparkle GMA Artist Center last Tuesday, November 22.
The Kapuso hunk has proven that he is one of the most in-demand leading men in his home network after starring in several projects like Inday Will Always Love You (2018), Beautiful Justice (2019), Legal Wives (2021), and his recent one Return To Paradise, where he was paired with newbie Elle Villanueva.
What's more, with his hard work and dedication, he finally bagged his first acting award. He won the Outstanding TV Actor of the Year in September 2022 at the Diamond Excellence Awards.
In his exclusive interview with 24 Oras, Derrick stated that remaining with Sparkle is the right decision, since they know what project will be good for him.
He explained, “Feel ko naman babing-baby ako. Love na love nila ako and alam nila 'yung right projects for me.”
