Kapuso actor Derrick Monasterio enumerated how Rak of Aegis helped him in becoming a better artist since he joined its seventh run this year.

In his exclusive interview with Nelson Canlas, he narrated his experience in being part of the highly-acclaimed theater production.

Derrick shared, “When you talk about Philippine theater, Philippine performing arts, Rak of Aegis talaga 'yung nasa number one, like top of the list.

“Kasi, I've been hearing a lot of praises and reviews even from international people na impressed, na talagang they are raving about Rak of Aegis.

“For me, it's an honor po talaga na mapasama.”

He added that the rehearsals are particularly challenging.

“Actually, talagang sobrang hirap talaga ng rehearsals. Tsaka 'yung nagtuturo sa amin, strikto! 'Yung partner ko nga umiyak [laughs].

“Pero nakita ko 'yung naituro niya sa amin, na-apply ko sa stage. Sa ngayon talagang sobrang daming good reviews, wala talagang hindi natutuwa and napakasaya ko lang, kasi napasok ko ito.”

What's more, Derrick said that Rak of Aegis instill in him the importance of being a professional artist.

“The discipline, of course. Simula ngayon hindi na ako nali-late sa mga tapings. Binabasa ko na 'yung script from page one to the last page. So for me, malaking natulong sa akin ng theater."

Aside from Beautiful Justice, Derrick Monasterio is also part of the debut film of Kapuso comedian Super Tekla.

He will play the gentle merman Rap in Kiko En Lala, showing in theaters nationwide this September 25.
