Derrick Monasterio joins the stellar cast of the hit musical Rak of Aegis!
Starting this July, Derrick will be performing in the longest-running original Pinoy musical. The Kapuso actor and performer will be portraying the role of Tolits.
In the press launch on June 3 at PETA Theater Center, Derrick explained how he bagged the role of Tolits.
"Nag-audition po ako, hindi naman siya ibinigay [agad] so kailangan talagang paghirapan."
Derrick added that his schedule is clear so he got the chance to audition for the role.
“Sa ngayon, I'm not doing any teleseryes pero may ginagawa po akong movies so I have a lot of time.”

His passion for singing and his love for the musical are the reasons why he really tried to bag the role.
He said, “Before I went into acting, I really love singing talaga. So nakita ko 'yung chance na 'to na open for auditions ang Rak of Aegis so nag-audition talaga ako. Kasi nakita ko na rin siya before. I watched it and I became a fan and now I am here doing it, so talagang nakakatuwa.”
