
Fans of Descendants of the Sun Philippines across the country can now finally watch the series on Netflix Philippines.
The series' first 30 episodes premiered on Friday, November 13, while five new episodes will launch on the video streaming service every Friday until New Year's Day in 2021.
Netflix Philippines' Instagram also highlighted, Descendants of the Sun Philippines, on this week's watch list alongside Dash & Lily, A Very Special Love, First Love, Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, Alter Me, and The Crown: Season 4.
Descendants of the Sun Philippines leading man Dingdong Dantes took pride in being a part of the series.
He said, "Nakaka-proud talaga na mailagay ang programa natin doon. So proud to be part of the show, so proud to be part of GMA, at, siyempre, so proud to be a Filipino kapag nakikita natin 'yung mga gawa natin sa ganitong prestigious platform." (I am really proud that our program will be on Netflix Philippines. [I am] so proud to be part of the show, so proud to be part of GMA, and of course, so proud to be a Filipino whenever we see our own work being included on a prestigious platform.)
For his leading lady's part, Jennylyn Mercado expressed how overwhelmed she is to see Descendants of the Sun Philippines on Netflix. "Nakakatuwa na ang prinoduce po na teleserye ng GMA ay makikita at mapapanood na sa [Netflix Philippines,]" she said. (It is really nice that a GMA-produced drama will stream on [Netflix Philippines].)
The main cast also includes Rocco Nacino and Jasmine Curtis-Smith who play Diego and Moira, respectively.
Just like his co-actors, Rocco can't help but feel proud of the series' new milestone.
"I am very, very proud to be part of this wonderful project kaya on behalf of the cast, crew, and staff ng show namin, thank you GMA Network, thank you Netflix Philippines," he uttered with fondness. Meanwhile, Jasmine, whose film Alter Me is also set to premiere on Netflix this week, said being able to watch Descendants of the Sun Philippines on the popular video streaming service is a "dream come true."
Descendants of the Sun Philippines first premiered on GMA earlier this year. However, production was suspended for six months due to the quarantine brought about by the pandemic. Production resumed last September allowing the series to resume its run on October 26, starting with an eight-day recap.
