Zac Efron recently became a trending topic on Twitter after eagle-eyed netizens noticed something different about his face.

The High School Musical and Baywatch actor made a virtual appearance on April 22 alongside many other celebrities for Bill Nye's "Earth Day! The Musical video' on Facebook.

During his brief appearance, fans couldn't help but notice that aside from being more muscular, Zac seems to have a more defined jawline now.

This immediately sparked rumors that Zac may have undergone plastic surgery or had botox or fillers injected.

Some fans were shocked by how different Zac's face looked.

While some mean people created memes and cracked jokes about Zac looking like Handsome Squidward, Johnny Bravo, and the Handsome Shrek.

Some also compared Zac to other celebrities with a well-defined jawline such as Rob Lowe and David Hasselhoff.

Aside from telling bashers to stop criticizing or making fun of Zac and his face, some fans also reminded people to be kind as the actor may have a health condition that no one knows about.

Some people also recalled how people judged Chadwick Boseman when he suddenly dropped a lot of weight while battling cancer and he didn't let the public know of his health crisis.

However, a plastic surgeon named Dr. Anthony Youn, who has 4.2 million followers on TikTok, shed some light on the controversy by giving his two cents on the matter.

Dr. Youn said, “Everybody is talking about Zac Efron and how strange he looks. Has he had plastic surgery to reshape his jawline, botox or fillers?

“I don't think so. I actually think he's had dental surgery, not plastic surgery. That's why he's swollen in these areas.

“If you've had your wisdom teeth taken out, did you look like this?”
