Ayon sa kaniyang post sa image-sharing platform, sinabi ng Die Beautiful director na hindi na dapat pinag-aaway ang mga indie filmmakers at commercial filmmakers ng bansa.
“Here's a clear reason why the MMFF matters and why people should stop pitting indie filmmaking against commercial filmmaking. It's the future of Philippine cinema that's at stake.”
Nagbigay rin siya ng babala na kapag walang nagbago ay maaaring wala nang mapapanood na Filipino films sa hinaharap.
“Unless we get our act together there will be more days like this one ahead, when Filipino films are nowhere to be found in our own cinemas. So please let's get off our high horses for once or we are all going down together.”
Inuwi ng Die Beautiful ang parangal na Audience Award sa katatapos pa lamang na Tokyo International Film Festival kung saan itinanghal din si Dabarkad Paolo Ballesteros bilang Best Actor.
