DILG Sec. Eduardo Año confirmed on Tuesday (March 31) that he tested positive for COVID-19

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año confirmed on Tuesday (March 31) evening that he tested positive for 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

According to reports, the secretary placed himself on self-quarantine on Thursday, March 26 after learning that four people he interacted with also tested positive for the virus.

He got tested the following day and confirmed he was infected on Tuesday.

Año is one of the top government officials who tested positive for COVID-19 and among the top three officers designated to implement the National Action Plan (NAP) against COVID-19 with Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and Presidential Peace Adviser Carlito Galves Jr. The defense secretary was reported now under quarantine.
