Dina Bonnevie shares her relationship with Pauleen Luna and how she got past the bitterness of her past marriage with Vic Sotto
In a tell-all interview, Dina Bonnevie described how she sees her ex-husband Vic Sotto's current wife Pauleen Luna.
Dina began her interview with Ogie Diaz by sharing a conversation she had with her daughter Danica Sotto, who asked why she and Pauleen don't talk.
"Sabi niya, bakit daw hindi kami nag-uusap? Sabi ko, 'Am I gonna call her on the phone? Ano pag-uusapan namin? Si Vic?'"
Dina added, "Sabi ko, 'Ayoko nang makeelam.'"
Nonetheless, Dina praised Pauleen and her efforts to bring Vic closer to his children, "She's very nice, siya ang tumatawag...lagi siyang gumagawa ng event para magkasama-sama sila."
She also recalled meeting Pauleen a long time ago, and being on good terms with her from the start.
"Actually, I've met her na before. Sa 'Eat Bulaga! pa, noon pa 'yun. It was fun, I have nothing against her."
Dina added, "Wala naman ako karapatan kay Vic that time. Ang tagal na naming annulled, and I was married na rin. Live and let live."
Dina also commended Vic's ex partner Connie Reyes, who is a friend to her. "Eh kahit naman 'yung mga past, like si Connie, okay naman kami, we're friends, I talk to her. Siyempre hindi naman kami kasing close ng dati kasi iba na 'yung work niya, hindi na kami nagkakasama."
She then interjected, "Ang people change, di ba? I changed."
Dina admitted that she wasn't always this positive and confident, she also felt bitter before finding a new love in her now husband Deogracias Victor "DV" Barbers Savellano.
"Kung noon, super bitter ako...kaya ako naniniwala, hurt people, hurt other people. Noon, super bitter ako. Siyempre, ikaw nga if you're younger, iisipin mo, bakit? Anong meron? I'm 10 years younger!
She added jokingly, "At masarap naman ako magluto!"
She said she realized one thing, "Pero ngayon, hindi na. Pangit talaga maging better, dapat, move on."
"I think it's very clear naman, even with Pauleen na, she wants Vic and I want to remain friends."
Dina also remains open to the possibility of being friends with Pauleen.
"Siguro nga if possible maging magkaibigan din kami ni Pauleen. Wala siyang kinalaman sa paghihiwalay namin [ni Vic.] Ang uso ngayon, modern family na, hindi na uso 'yung mga nag-aampalaya diyan," she concludes.
Dina and Vic were married from 1982 to 1992. The pair got annulled and have remained friends and have co-parented their children Oyo Boy Sotto and Danica Sotto-Pingris.
