Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera's chemistry is something that cannot be compared because it stemmed from a “reel-to-real” pairing that suddenly ended up on their road to forever as their family grew with Sixto and Zia.
The couple, collectively known as “DongYan,” came back to the big screens for the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival with the entry Rewind directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, and movie-goers cannot get enough.
As part of their promotion for Rewind, Marian and Dingdong posed for Metro Magazine on their January 2024 cover where they expressed harmony through dancing. The magazine said it sets “the tone for introspection as 2024 begins.”
The magazine also highlighted the latest project of DongYan and said, “The film hits differently in a world recovering from the pandemic.”
The lifestyle magazine also commended DongYan's performance in Rewind after its success in Philippine cinemas, saying, “Dingdong and Marian's faith in the script was well-placed.”
It also added, “Their performances transcend the screen, making every moment, from lighthearted scenes to emotional confrontations feel real.”
Rewind's success is also a testament to the ever-strong chemistry of Marian and Dingdong on screen despite their last project being 13 years ago with You to Me Are Everything directed by Mark A. Reyes.
In a separate post, Marian Rivera teased fans on their partnership with Metro Magazine with the hashtag #MetroLovesDongyan.
This prompted reactions and comments from fans as seen in the comments section of the actress' Instagram post.
Rewind is going on its second blockbuster week and is showing in cinemas nationwide. The movie stars Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Lito Pimentel, Ariel Ureta, Pepe Herrera, Sue Ramirez, and Coney Reyes.
