'The Master Cutter' star Dingdong Dantes advocates for work-free weekends

The Master Cutter star Dingdong Dantes had a lively discussion during the media event day of Esquire Philippines held last Friday, June 5.

Dingdong was chosen by the Esquire team to be their "The Modern Filipino Gentleman" cover for the magazine's June issue.

In a panel interview with select members of the press and content creators, the multi-awarded actor and host stressed the importance of taking time off on weekends, which Dong described as 'scared' for him.

“Mahalaga talaga may awareness ka sa pagbalanse ng lahat. Hindi lang puwedeng puro trabaho, hindi rin naman pupuwedeng wala. Wala kang ginagawa to keep yourself busy and para may gawin kang mahalaga para sa pamilya mo,” he shared.

“It's always important to strike that balance, kaya para sa akin I really treat my weekends very sacredly, Hangga't maari sana wala akong ibang iniisip, walang ibang ginagawa. Pero, medyo bihira rin masunod, pero at the very least 'yung mga Sundays,” the Kapuso actor noted.

With his successful showbiz career, numerous brand endorsement, and a thriving film production company AgostoDos Pictures, Dingdong still enjoys the simple things in life.

According to him, when he has no work, he really wants to bring his children to school.

Smiling, he explained, “And when I do not have work like taping o kaya mga pelikula na ginagawa, gusto ko rin naghahatid ako mga kids, pati 'yung nagsusundo at kung ako naman ang hindi puwede si Marian [Rivera] naman ang gumagawa nun.”

Aside from striking an important balance with work, Dingdong Dantes also added that everyone should take care of their health, too.

Dong said, “We really have to take care of our health, napakahalaga talaga ng kalusugan lalo na sa mga nasa '40s, ako I'm mid-'40s already, we always want to be strong for our loved ones. We always to be strong so that we can be present. Mahalaga talaga na alagaan 'yung kalusugan.”
