“AlterNate,” the latest installment of hit GMA primetime anthology I Can See You, takes pride in having a small, ensemble cast composed of some of the country's brightest artists.
It is top billed by no less than Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes who portrays dual roles for the first time.
Joining him in the newest I Can See You series is new Kapuso Beauty Gonzalez, veteran actors and former couple Ricky Davao and Jackie Loue Blanco, and promising Kapuso kontrabida Joyce Ching.
But apart from them, I Can See You: AlterNate would not be complete without its supporting cast members who play minor yet significant roles in the mini-series.
With this, Dingdong took to his Instagram account to honor them, some of which are close to him in real life.
This includes acting coach and musician, Yan Yuzon, who is apparently Dingdong's friend.
Yan (brother of Spongecola vocalist Yael Yuzon) portrays Darwin Trinidad, the running mate of Nate, Dingdong's main character, on I Can See You: AlterNate.
According to the primetime actor, Yan's portrayal as vice mayor is something to be watched for.
Little did viewers know that Jude Gonzalez has been Dingdong's sidekick in real life.
He is Dingdong's cousin and, chances are, you already noticed him in the actor's previous shows.
On I Can See You: AlterNate, Jude plays a villain to Dingdong's second character, Michael.
In this post, it can be seen that they are engaged in a realistic stunt fight.
Dingdong wrote in the caption, "Chef @judeloupit strikes again!”
"'Di n'yo man natitikman ang napakasarap niyang adobo, mapapanood niyo naman ang kaniyang powerhouse punch sa I Can See You: ALTERNATE, this coming Monday!" he added.
Lastly, Dingdong expressed admiration to Bryan Benedict as he finally got to work with him on I Can See You: AlterNate after joining 2012 reality TV series Protégé: The Battle for the Big Artista Break, where Dingdong was one of the hosts.
In the new primetime mini-series, Bryan plays Joey, Nate's friend and confidante who shows Nate a video of his complete look-alike who is apparently his twin brother, Michael.
According to Dingdong, the Protegé graduate "remains the humble, talented, and motivated Bryan I know."
He then gave Bryan a motivational message for whatever he puts his mind into.
"I know that with your determination and hard work--and of course guidance from people around you-- you'll be able to reach your goals and dreams," Dingdong told Bryan.
In his reply, Bryan expressed gratitude to Dingdong, saying it's an honor and a privilege to be sharing the screen with the Primetime King.
Besides Dingdong, Bryan has also worked with his Protegé mentor, Ricky Davao, who is part of the main cast of I Can See You: AlterNate.
I Can See You: AlterNate is directed by Dominic Zapata.
It airs weekdays, beginning January 10, at 8:50 p.m. on GMA-7.
