Kapuso stars Dingdong Dantes and Jasmine Curtis-Smith have been elected to the board of directors of Aktor PH, the league of Filipino actors, alongside Iza Calzado, Mylene Dizon, Cherry Pie Picache, and Piolo Pascual.
During the second general assembly of the group, the six stars were voted to be part of the board together with the league's president Agot Isidro, for a term of three years.
"Naganap din ang paghalal ng bagong Board Members na maglilingkod sa organisasyon sa susunod na 3 taon, at mapalad kami na ipinagtibay ito ng ating bagong Advisory Board," Dingdong, who currently host Family Feud and Amazing Earth, wrote in his lengthy message on Instagram.
The newly-appointed Advisory Board of Aktor consists of industry veterans Charo Santos-Concio, Christopher De Leon, Tirso Cruz III, and Vilma Santos-Recto.
"Ang kanilang gabay ay tiyak na magbibigay sa atin ng kakayahang makamit ang pangarap ng organisasyon," Dingdong added.
Mowelfund chairperson Boots Anson-Rodrigo and Film Development Council of the Philippines chairman Director Joey Javier Reyes were in full support of the general assembly.
For Jasmine, she was grateful as she was elected to another three-year term. She has been a member of the board since the group's founding in 2020.
"Grateful and energized to be on the @aktorph Board of Directors ship for another three years with these talented and inspiring individuals," Jasmine, who currently stars in the GMA Prime series Asawa Ng Asawa Ko, wrote on Instagram.
"We will nurture our space so actors can keep envisioning their future, upgrade their skills, globalize their network & representation plus foster a community that supports artistic growth & collaboration."
Founded at the height of the pandemic in May 2020, Aktor aims to serve as a mouthpiece to address the issues and problems troubling entertainment industry workers.
