In an exclusive interview with GMA during the actor's meeting with the Catholic Bishops of the Philippines at Manila Polo Club today (November 24), Dingdong Dantes shared how they came up with the name "Maria Letizia."

He explained, “Letizia, [kasi] gusto namin syempre classic sounding. Gusto namin malaki ang connection at kinalaman sa aming history.

“So, 'yung grandmother ko, Letizia 'yung pangalan niya. Tapos meron din siyang [Marian] Letizia doon sa side ng kanyang father. Ako, wala, nagagandahan lang ako sa pangalan.

“And yung Maria naman, lahat kasi ng babae sa family namin lahat may Maria, so gusto lang namin ituloy 'yung tradisyon. And, at the same time, bilang isang Maria, 'yung salitang ugat or yung pangalang ugat [ni Marian] ay Maria rin.

“So, it makes sense to put those things together.”

Dingdong, whose real name is Jose Sixto Dantes III, also inherited his father's name Jose Sixto "Jig" Dantes Jr., who of course got his name from Dingdong's grandfather Jose Sixto Dantes. No wonder their baby also got her name from the family tree!

Proud Daddy

Being a new father, the Kapuso Primetime King even shared what he's most excited about being a dad.

“Excited ako magpa-burp," the actor gushed, and even proudly shared that he already did it before.

When asked if he has also tried changing Baby Zia's diaper, Dong laughed and answered: "Hindi pa, mamaya 'yun."
