“Bacolod is very close to my heart,” says multi-awarded actor, host, and producer Dingdong Dantes who currently studies BS Technology Management in West Negros University Bacolod. “For me, it’s like my second home already and I am truly elated that I get to meet the warm and gentle people of Bacolod again,” he adds.
On Monday, April 8, Dingdong will be flying to Bacolod to take part in the celebration of this year’s Panaad Festival. The actor is set to banner the Kapuso Night happening at the Panaad Park and Stadium at 7PM together with fast-rising Kapuso actress Max Collins and talented singer-actress Julie Ann San Jose.
Prior to that, GMA TV Bacolod will facilitate a Kapuso Barangayan with free medical consultations in Punta Taytay Gym and Health Center at 1PM.
“I thank our friends in Bacolod for inviting us over to witness the colorful celebration of their festival. Sana excited na silang makasama kami because we really prepared hard to make this event a lot more special,” shares Dingdong.
In the mean time, after her stint in Pahiram ng Sandali as Dingdong’s lover, Max is raring to work on her next project – an indie film titled The Bamboo Flower which will be set in Bohol under the helm of Director Maryo J. Delos Reyes. Julie Ann, on the other hand, has all the reason to be happy these days after her self-titled debut album reached Triple Platinum status.
On April 10, set to happen in Panaad Park and Stadium from 10AM to 5PM is a regional audition for GMA Network’s upcoming talent search titled “Anak Ko Yan.”
Spicing up the Panaad week even more are Indio’s Aljur Abrenica and Kakambal ni Eliana’s Chynna Ortaleza who will respectively serve as guest singer and host for the Lin-Ay Sang Negros Pageant Night on April 12 at the Panaad Park and Stadium.
Come April 13, Tween stars Barbie Forteza and Derrick Monasterio interact with the Bacoleños via an engaging Kapuso Mall Show to be held in SM City Bacolod’s North Transport Hub at 4PM.
Panaad, which means vow or fulfillment, is widely known as Negros’ Festival of Festivals as it serves as a representation of 32 individual festivals of the province’s cities and municipalities marked by an array of events showcasing their rich and vast history, arts and culture, tourism, commerce, trade and industry.
