Sparkle artists learned the different techniques, camera blocking, and other directorial terms in “Sparkle 101: Acting For Camera”
The award-winning director and film writer Direk Mark Reyes spent an afternoon with the Sparkle artists for an informative masterclass called “Sparkle 101: Acting For Camera.”
Direk Mark shared different techniques, camera blocking, and other directorial terms with the new artists of Sparkle GMA Artist Center on October 27. What they learned in this masterclass is beneficial for the new talents as it will help boost their confidence in different projects.
Sparkle actors Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, Angela Alarcon, and Sophia Senoron showed their support for Direk Mark's masterclass. These actors worked with the esteemed director on the set of Voltes V: Legacy.
According to Direk Mark, he relayed to GMA Network Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes the importance of this masterclass especially for those who are just starting out in the showbiz industry.
“I saw there was a need for this, and that's why I brought this project up, this workshop. I told Ms. Anette, “Ms. Anette, I think we need something like this para the younger kids when they get to the set, they know what they're doing and they're equipped. And the level of confidence that they will have after knowing what we're talking about 'di na sila mapapahiya. They won't look like they don't know what they're doing.””
Direk Mark commends Sparkle GMA Artist Center for doing an excellent job when it comes to honing their artists' skills when it comes to acting. He believes that when these young artists also learn the blocking, directorial terms, and more, they will further excel in their future projects.
He said, “Sparkle is very good at honing them with their acting but I see there's a need to teach them to act when you're on the set. What camera is on you... why you should face this way...”
After meeting the new artists of Sparkle GMA Artist Center, Direk Mark expressed his excitement for their future careers.
“I'm very excited to work with them. First of all, they're a really good-looking bunch, walang patapon.”
He added, “Hopefully I get to work with them on upcoming projects. I see a lot of potentials. I could pick out na parang itong mga 'to feeling ko sisikat 'to. Hopefully, they deliver.”
