The Little Mermaid

A sneak peek of the highly-anticipated live-action remake of 'The Little Mermaid” is finally here.

During Disney's D23 Expo last September 9, the entertainment company released the first teaser of the live-action remake of the famous animated film The Little Mermaid.

Last 2019, it was confirmed that a live-action remake of The Little Mermaid is in the works. After a few years, Disney unveiled its first ever teaser which stars musician Halle Bailey as Princess Ariel.

Included in the star-studded ensemble is Daveed Diggs playing the role of Sebastian, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Awkwafina as Scuttle, and Jonah Hauer King as Prince Eric.

The teaser trailer opens with the vast sea and transitions to focus on life underwater. As the camera pans to different parts of the ocean, it arrives and draws its full attention to a sunken ship. The camera then follows a swimming mermaid exploring the shipwreck.

A blinking light calls on the mermaid's attention and as she swims toward it, the camera transitions and reveals the mermaid to be Princess Ariel singing a line from the song “Part of your world.” At the very end, it was unveiled that the live-action remake is set to be released on May 2023.
