Get ready to meet a new arnis-wielding badass warrior princess on the Disney-animated movie 'Raya and the Last Dragon.'
Disney is making a bold statement with their newest animated movie inspired by the rich culture and history of Southeast Asia.
Last October 21, the official trailer of Raya and the Last Dragon was released online to the delight of fans. So far, it has generated over 5.4 million views and counting.
Scheduled to be released in March 2021, the movie revolves around the fictional world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together in harmony.
Raya is voiced by Kelly Marie Tran and Crazy Rich Asians star Awkwafina portrays the role of the last dragon Sisu.
Eagle-eyed netizens were quick to notice that the warrior heroine seems to be using Arnis sticks in her fight scenes.
Arnis is the national martial arts of the Philippines.
