Staying home this Holy Week? Worry not, as GMA News TV Channel 11 will be with you, providing compelling documentaries on the air from morning till night plus newscasts every hour from Holy Thursday to Black Saturday. GMA News TV will run the newscasts News To Go at 9 am, Balitanghali at 12 noon and State of the Nation with Jessica Soho at 7:30 pm on Holy Thursday and 7 pm on Good Friday while GMA News TV Live will air hourly updates on traffic and breaking news. The highlight of GMA News TV’s Holy Week programming are 3 full days of Documentary Marathons. GMA News TV Documentaries on Holy Thursday will feature Philippine history and places with religious significance. Episodes on Andres Bonifacio, Antonio Luna, Gregorio del Pilar and our national hero Jose Rizal will air on this day for avid students of history. For those who dream of taking part in religious pilgrimages, GMA News TV will also run programs featuring Mt. Sinai in Egypt, Lourdes in France and Cutud, Pampanga where devotees are nailed to the cross every year. On Good Friday, GMA’s George Foster Peabody Award-winning documentaries Ambulansyang de Paa, Kamao and Kidneys for Sale will be airing along with documentaries on hunger and corruption and the state of our health system. On Black Saturday, more of GMA’s award winners on wildlife, the environment and travel adventures around the Philippines will be presented.
