Dolly de Leon continues to make her mark in the global film scene as she earns a nomination at the prestigious 2023 British Academy Film Awards of the British Academy Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).
Dolly is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Abigail in the award-winning satirical film of Ruben Östlund, Triangle of Sadness.
The acclaimed actress is vying for the award alongside Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Hong Chau (The Whale), Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin), Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere All At Once), and Carey Mulligan (She Said).
Triangle of Sadness is likewise up for two awards--Best Original Screenplay and Best Casting.
Dolly's nomination at BAFTA comes after her momentous nomination at the 80th Golden Globe Awards.
Dolly is the first-ever Filipino to be nominated at the distinguished awards show. She was up for Best Supporting Actress for the same role, but Angela Bassett took home the award.
The veteran actress also recently landed a spot in British Vogue's 2023 Hollywood Portfolio, which celebrates “30 actors at the top of their game.”
She joins international stars such as Cate Blanchett, Michelle Yeoh, Letitia Wright, Hugh Jackman, and her co-star in Triangle of Sadness, Harris Dickinson, on the list.
The 2023 BAFTA Film Awards is set to take place on February 19, Sunday.
Congratulations, Dolly!
