Singer and actress Dolly Parton's husband Carl Dean passed away at 82 years old.
American singer-songwriter and actress Dolly Parton currently grieves for the passing of her beloved husband, Carl Dean.
The well-known country singer took to Instagram to share the sad news, revealing that Carl passed away on March 3. No details were further disclosed regarding the cause of death.
In her emotional tribute, Dolly expressed her deep sorrow and gratitude for the years they shared together. “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can't do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy," Dolly wrote.
Carl will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family, who has requested for privacy during this difficult time.
Carl, a businessman who ran an asphalt-paving business in Nashville, was known for inspiring Dolly's legendary music. He was the inspiration behind the singer's iconic song "Jolene" when a bank teller's interest in him stirred her feelings of jealousy. He also played a role in her 2023 rock 'n roll album, Rockstar.
The couple met when Dolly was 18, shortly after she moved to Nashville. They got married after two years, in 1966.
Dolly and Carl remained private about their relationship, and though they never had children, their bond was unbreakable. In 2016, they renewed their vows to mark their 50th wedding anniversary.
