“Kasalanan ng GMA ‘to eh,” Donita Rose said, laughing.
Her supposed two-month visit to Manila is stretching indefinitely because of the morning show
Basta Every Day Happy.
“When [I found out about the show], I said to myself na ‘let’s see where this goes so I thought okay, I’ll just do one season and then I’ll go back home (to the States),’” she shared with GMANetwork.com.
Donita, who is pursuing a career as a chef in the U.S., took a break to go back to one of her other loves, show business.
“[I said that I’ll do this show] para kahit paano ma-fulfill ko 'yung kahiligan sa showbiz, pag-ho-host, pagluluto and it would look good on my resume when I go back to the States,” she said.
When the show began airing, Donita noticed how big and important the project is, and how it’s something worth staying for.
“Nakita ko [na] pinaghandaan talaga ‘to, pangmatagalan yata ‘to,” she noted.
This urged her to discuss the situation with her husband Eric Villarama who is in the U.S.
“I told my husband, ‘Anong desisyon mo? Kasi hindi ako puwedeng mag-stay dito ng matagalan na wala kayo. So he said, ‘okay,
I will allow JP to stay there [ng] isang school year and then after that, balik na kayo ha?’” she shared.
