Rapper and vlogger Donnalyn Bartolome, 26, shared her thoughts about starting her own family, after her throwback photo went viral.
In her Facebook post, the "Kakaibabe" singer uploaded a photo of when she was just 17 years old and some netizens made insensitive comments that she should get married soon.
One netizen commented, “Mag anak kna [sic] mahirap tumanda ng walang anak.”
Donnalyn replied to this by saying that she has no intention of having her own children with just the simple reason that they should take care of her when she grows old.
The YouTuber explained, “Mas mahirap tumanda na gagawing retirement ang mga anak. Have children because you want to experience the joys of being a parent. Not with the intention of obligating them of [a] responsibility that isn't theirs.”
She added that people should invest in meaningful stuff like opening up a business or saving up for your retirement fund instead of passing the burden to your future kids.
“Invest your money in business, health, and life insurance instead.
“Ipapanganak mo anak mo sa mundong 'to para parusahan kasi ganun din naranasan mo? END THE CYCLE.”
Donnalyn ended her post that we should just adopt dogs or cats, since we are already facing the problem of overpopulation in this country.
“Overpopulated naman na [rin] tayo. Mag-aso o pusa ka nalang.”
Donnalyn Bartolome became hot topic online last year, because of her “unsual” unboxing video, wherein she unboxed belongings that her ex-boyfriend sent back in the vlog titled “Araw ng Patay Kong Puso.”
