Former PBA star Doug Kramer is thankful for their mountaintop home after showing a picture of haze covering the whole of Metro Manila.
In an Instagram post, Doug posted a picture of Metro Manila from their home. It shows dark smoke or haze covering the city taller than most of the buildings. In his post, he mentioned that it is the “worst haze” he's seen since they moved to their current home.
“Pollution getting out of hand in the city. It has covered the whole Metro, edge to edge,” he said.
He added how it's crazy that people don't realize that they're breathing haze, which can cause respiratory health issues when inhaled excessively. Haze is caused by the pollution in the air, blocking and absorbing sunlight and reducing the clarity and color of what people usually see.
Doug also expressed his wonder as to why his kids “used to have so much cough, allergies, etc. before.”
“Living outside the city entails more traffic, but has a distinct advantage of better air quality,” he said, ending his post.
A netizen also commented on Doug's post, saying that when he posted the same picture in 2019-2020, there was no pollution “Cuz we r all locked up inside our house,” to which Doug agreed.
Others, meanwhile, commented their own sentiments, expressing how sad they are about what's happening to the environment.
One netizen even connected their own asthma attacks to the haze enveloping the city.
The Kramer family moved into their home away from the city in 2019 and have updated it with a modern look. They've also previously changed some parts of the house to accommodate their growing kids.
Meanwhile, in August, Chesca Kramer also posted a transformation video of their home when they made a few renovations on their house including the pool, a fish pond, and an al fresco dining area.
