Filipino dermatologist and entrepreneur Dr. Tess Mauricio-Lee could not be happier that her feel-good reality show titled All in the Family is back for a fifth season.
She shared some the the most exciting events to look forward to on the show during an interview at its premiere party and press conference held at the Evolus headquarters in Newport Beach recently.
“This season, we will share my mom's 75th and James' 51st birthday celebrations. Our house parties are always so much fun, complete with tons of music since our family loves to sing, dance, and perform!"
She added, “We will also feature skin treatments and clinic visits with my friends, John Lennon's son, Julian Lennon and Miss Universe Margie Moran who were so gracious to allow us to film.”
“And of course, we will cover my part in Khloe Kardashian's skin cancer scare journey which is also going to be highlighted in the third season of The Kardashians on Hulu.”
While some Asian reality shows are being discontinued, All in the Family is coming back with a new season soon. When asked about the secret of the show's success, Dr. Tess answered, “The love, unity, and fun viewers feel when they watch our family.
“Everything they see in the show is real. This is not staged or scripted unlike some reality shows, so I think people can feel the authentic emotions in our interaction and can really relate and hopefully feel inspired."
She revealed, however, that it's becoming challenging to film each and everyone of them because of their busy schedules, and two of her kids are now adults, “At times [they] are reluctant to be part of the show.”
She continued, “It is challenging to balance being able to share our lives as a family and also keeping some privacy, especially in the climate of social media pressures. We give the young people of our family the choice of how much of their lives we will share and make sure they are as comfortable as possible."
With the success of All In the Family, what other dreams does Dr. Tess have?
“I dream about making an even bigger impact in the world. I don't exactly know what that will look like yet, and I don't know in what way, but I feel strongly that I'm just starting in a way,” she said.
