After capturing hearts as a standout housemate in Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition, Dustin Yu is officially stepping into the big leagues.
Even with two major entries in the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival, Dustin admits he is still finding his footing in the spotlight.
In an interview with GMA Integrated News, Dustin shared that he is still adjusting through the complexities of the entertainment business, noting that he is still very much new in the industry.
He admitted that his current success was never part of his 'manifestations,' as he never expected these opportunities to come his way, believing such a career path was out of his reach.
Dustin emphasized that he never wavered in his commitment to the industry, fueled by an enduring belief in his craft and a deep-seated love for acting.
“Hindi ako sumuko maniwala dito sa industriya. Hindi ako nag-give up na talagang ipakita kung gaano 'yung pagmamahal ko sa pag-arte o dito sa showbiz,” he said.
He further revealed that the most rewarding aspect of his profession is the opportunity to connect with people who genuinely support his journey.
“Pinakamasayang part for me is 'yung nakakakilala ako ng mga tao na talagang sumusuporta sa akin,” Dustin said.
According to Dustin, Kapuso actor and his friend, David Licauco was one of the people who inspires him the most in the world of showbiz.
“Isa kasi siya sa talagang ina-idolize ko na artista; 'yung career niya,” he said.
He also views his fans and supporters as a true blessing, describing a mutual bond where they serve as his inspiration while he, in turn, strives to be a source of strength for them.
“I see it as a blessing talaga. Ang dami kong nagiging kaibigan o ang dami kong nagiging inspirasyon at nagiging inspirasyon din ako para sa iba, 'yun 'yung parang mahalaga para sa'kin,” Dustin explained.
Dustin is set to showcase his versatility in the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) with two major film entries. Aside from his role in the horror reboot Shake, Rattle, and Roll: Evil Origins, he will also star as 'LA' in the teen romance Love You So Bad, alongside Kapamilya actress Bianca De Vera and fellow Kapuso star Will Ashley.
