EJ Obiena

Pinoy pole vault athlete EJ Obiena adds another medal to his growing haul.

Olympic athlete and pole vault champion EJ Obiena is on the right track for his mission to rack up more medals this year after finishing third at the 2026 ISTAF Indoor meet held in Dusseldorf, Germany.

EJ took to Instagram and posted a highlight video of his bronze medal win and even used the hit OPM song “Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita” of Roselle Nava as the background music.

He then jokingly said in the captions, “Indoor season officially started. Came away with a [bronze medal] here @istaf_indoor.

“PS: Using… Filipino love songs on competition videos to drown out my confusion.”

Meanwhile, Sam Kendricks of the United States won the silver medal, while Menno Vloon of the Netherlands took home the gold medal.

Back in December, EJ Obiena won his fourth SEA Games gold medal in the men's pole vault, which was held in Thailand.
