Ellen Adarna made an honest revelation about what led her to enter show business during a recent interview with Melai Cantiveros.
The actress shared that her rebellious streak pushed her to work and become independent after leaving her family home in Cebu during her teenage years.
“Lumipad ako ng Manila dahil nag-resign ako sa Papa ko dahil nga nag-away kami. Sabi ko, 'Sige, pupunta na ako sa Manila. Bye,'” Ellen recalled.
According to Ellen, she eventually grew to enjoy life in showbiz as it allowed her to explore a different side of herself after moving away from Cebu.
“Nagustuhan ko naman. Marami akong nakilala. Bata pa lang kasi ako noon. You want to meet a lot of people, explore. So masaya siya at that time in my life,” she said.
Ellen also revealed that GMA Network Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes was the one who discovered her when she was in her early 20s. She later made her television debut as part of the Kapuso comedy gag show Bubble Gang, where she appeared from 2010 to 2013. "Pinahanap ako ni Ms. Annette Gozon-Valdes,” Ellen shared.
Ellen and Atty. Annette's connection did not end there. The two reunited during a meeting last April, which was also attended by Ellen's former partner, John Lloyd Cruz.
Currently, Ellen is focused on motherhood, spending most of her time raising her two children: Elias, her son with John Lloyd, and Lily, her daughter with ex-husband Derek Ramsay.
