English singer and songwriter Ellie Goulding had a one-on-one interview with GMA Integrated News reporter Cata Tibayan for 24 Oras for her new single “By The End of The Night”.
Ellie told Chika Minute she wanted to make people “feel better” with her new song.
“The pandemic was so hard on all of us”, Goulding said, “I think we just want to write in a more positive way and make people feel better. I think that was my instinct, to want people to feel much better.”
In addition, she also decided to focus on writing happy songs this time around.
She explained, “This is like a very different era from 'Brightest Blue' era, which is much more personal and in-depth. I think they are expecting like a fun and joyous, an escape-type of album, where the songs are upbeat.”
In the interview, Ellie also took the opportunity to express her gratitude to her Pinoy fans.
“I remember just the people being wonderful and the food being great. Thank you so much for the support and I know, I have great fans in the Philippines and get messages from them a lot, so, thank you for being you. And for being a fan.”
The popular singer is the voice behind the hits Love Me Like You Do, Anything Can Happen, and Easy Lover.
