The Golden Ticket has been snagged! Eraserheads made a surprise performance on the first day of the theatrical release of their documentary film, Combo On The Run, last Friday, March 21 in Gateway Mall Cinema 5.
Moviegoers were in for a special treat as the legendary Filipino rock band delivered an intimate live show during the sold-out screening of the film. During the media conference of Combo On The Run last February, the movie's director Diane Ventura announced the surprise pop-up performance lottery, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a lucky audience.
Eraserheads wowed the unsuspecting audience with a six-set song, performing some of their biggest hits, including “Superproxy,” “Combo on the Run,” “Alapaap,” “Spoliarium,” “Pare Ko,” and “Magasin.”
The pop-up performance was part of an initiative to reward devoted fans and rekindle the magic of in-theater experiences, encouraging audiences to support moviegoing culture in an era dominated by streaming.
Combo On The Run features an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the Ang Huling El Bimbo reunion concert of 2022, and rare footage and never-before-seen interviews of the multi-awarded band.
Adding to the excitement, the film teased the moviegoers and fans during the end credits when it announced details of the band's upcoming show, ERASERHEADS: ELECTRIC FUN MUSIC FESTIVAL set to be staged at SMDC Festival Grounds in Pasay City on May 31, 2025.
Presented in Dolby Atmos, Combo On The Run is brought to you by DVent Pictures and WEU, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It has a limited theatrical run until March 23, 2025 in more than 150 cinemas nationwide.
