HYBE America and Paramount Pictures are set to release a new movie with Eric Nam and Ji Young-yoo.

As the K-pop fever continues to sweep the globe, another exciting Hallyu-themed project is officially on the way!

According to a report from Soompi, HYBE America has announced its co-production of a K-pop-inspired film. This also marks a powerhouse collaboration as they'll work with Paramount Pictures, one of Hollywood's major film studios.

Among the first confirmed cast members is Korean-American singer and actor Eric Nam. He'll be joined by actress Ji Young-yoo, best known as the voice of Zoey in Netflix's animated film KPop Demon Hunters.

The upcoming film follows the journey of a young Korean-American girl who joins a televised audition program, all in hopes of securing a spot in a next-generation K-pop girl group. With passion, pressure, and perseverance at the core of the narrative, the story promises to dive deep into the dazzling yet demanding world of K-pop.

The project will be directed by Benson Lee and written by Eileen Shim, with HYBE America's President of Film and TV James Shin serving as producer. Alongside are also Arthur Spector and Joshua Davis of Epic Magazine, and Scooter Braun.

“This film is my love letter to K-pop--a world full of energy, passion, magic, and an incredible community that supports it. I'm deeply grateful to Paramount Pictures for backing this project, to the production team for their unwavering dedication, and to everyone who helped bring this story to life,” shared Director Benson.

Mr. James Shin also expressed his excitement about the collaboration. “We're thrilled to be partnering with Paramount Pictures on this historic opportunity to bring a K-pop story to global audiences. This film will capture the dedication, artistry, and enduring popularity of K-pop, while also telling a universal story about chasing dreams against all odds.”

Slated for a theatrical release on February 12, 2027, the film is set to begin production in mid-September 2025 entirely produced in South Korea. This marks a historic first for a major Hollywood studio to film a full production in the country.
